The vanity of it all

I’m willing to gamble
Willing to bet
That you smell like
Roses amid incense
Doused in clove
A dash of well placed cologne
An almost feminine masculinity

I’m sure that you are
A well kept man
You take pride in your appearance
It could be vain
But it’s not
You are a divine creature
Everyone can see that

Wanna know how I smell?
I wear Dove antiperspirant
And Guerlain perfume
Cheap and cheerful
Classy and expensive
I’m both ends of the spectrum
It’s a balance I have found

My hair stinks of product
It’s not pretty otherwise
I am a thing of vanity
Powder on my cheeks
Lashes on my lashes
Varnish on my nails
And blood red schtick on my lips

I’m willing to gamble
Willing to bet
That you’ll undress my face
And appreciate the skin
The reality of me
I am average in nakedness
But I can mask it in vanity..
